Following the renovating of their existing medical model-era nursing home into a household design, an ambitious 10-year master plan is being created for this established Catholic community. The current campus occupies only the southern third of the 34-acre site. While wetlands and an abundance of natural site features has hindered expansion in the past, we capitalized on these assets in their plan.
The new plan also includes a new entrance at the north, opening up the site to expansion and creating an opportunity for a vibrant new independent “lifestyle campus” nestled in the wooded hills. With selective renovations and additions, the existing campus area will shift its focus towards healthcare exclusively. Existing assisted living and skilled nursing facilities will be augmented with memory care and short term rehabilitation
Our past work with The Village at St. Edward included the renovation of the nursing home included the relocation of the main entry to allow for development of a garden courtyard and a new enhanced image at the front door. Additional amenities were added outside of the existing chapel to accommodate large group gatherings. The lower level assisted living was relocated to another building on campus and the vacated spaces renovated to accommodate a media room, auditorium, beauty salon, and wellness center.
