Douglas Gardens North is located on a 26-acre parcel of land in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The extensive master plan for this campus setting includes a wide array of residential options including affordable senior housing.
Three phases of the master plan have been completed. The first phase, featuring a HUD 202 project consisting of a four-story, 95-unit mid-rise building was completed in 2006. The second phase, completed in October 2008, includes a four-story, 52-unit mid-rise 202 building in the same Key West style of architecture that continued in the next phases of the campus.
Following the success of the first two phases, the third phase completed in May 2013 provides an additional 75 apartments. Large meeting and dining spaces with a supporting kitchen allow residents of all three buildings and visiting community groups to host catered events and meetings. Douglas Gardens North secured LEED Silver Certification for this phase which also includes an eco-friendly garden and terrace areas.
