As part of the Montefiore campus, the new 6,000 sf, two-level Hospice Care addition was designed to create a calm and pleasing environment for patients and families experiencing end-of-life care. With a separate entrance, public spaces are on the first level and new patient rooms on the second level. Significant renovations to the existing Montefiore Home created additional Hospice Care on the first floor.
Six new patient rooms in the Maltz Hospice and Palliative Care Pavilion include a full bathroom with a shower, and a patio accessible from the room with doors large enough to bring a bed out onto the patio. A Community Living Room is located within ear-shot of the new patient rooms. Five existing patient rooms were renovated and one new patient room added to create the new Transition Palliative Care Unit with its own separate Community Living Room.
