Opportunities expanding for former inmates with addition to Restaurant Institute

Posted May 11, 2018 in News

While the focus of c.c. hodgson architectural group is senior living, there are certain projects that spark our interest and align with our passion for creating spaces that enhance peoples’ quality of life. One such project is working with Brandon Chrostowski, founder of the Edwins Leadership and Restaurant Institute and the subject of the Academy-Award nominated documentary, “Knife Skills,” on his efforts to help ex-offenders reenter society by teaching them the skills needed for careers in the restaurant industry.

His newest venture is Edwins Butcher Shop which will not only teach students butchery skills, but will be open to the public and continue helping revitalize the Cleveland neighborhood where it is located. The design by c.c. hodgson architectural group blends the educational nature of the institute with a butcher shop that will be housed in a building that has been vacant since 2000.

Having secured approved by the city’s Landmark Commission, Edwins Butcher Shop is slated for a winter 2018 opening.
