Planning a major repositioning at Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads, focus groups with residents uncovered how critically important it was for them to be connected to the entire campus. The new master plan for this urban Life Plan Community focused on providing a new health and wellness center, a new 15-story tower with independent living units, new clustered skilled nursing, assisted living and dementia care – all reconnected with outdoor spaces through gardens, patios, and therapeutic courtyards.
Improvement of the quality of life for the health center residents was vital. The addition allowed the undoubling of resident rooms and the implementation of resident centered household clusters to replace what had been a traditional medical model skilled nursing floor.
